Post Jam Major Update ! Version 1.0 Final Version

Hey everyone! No level has been left untouched in this update! I want to thank everyone who has provided feedback and played this little project I created for the Pirate Software Game Jam. The response was much larger than I anticipated, and I am truly grateful.

Now, let’s dive into the changes you came for and what’s different from the game jam version. Below is a complete list of the updates:

Changes:

New Mechanic:

  •  The game now actively tracks the bullet's position and rotation throughout each level, allowing for the addition of two new mechanics.
    • Level Replays: You can see your successful attempt in real time at the end of a level.

Gameplay:

  •  Bullet bounces are now more accurate; instead of relying on collisions, bullets use raycasts to determine bounce points.
  •  Shielded enemies and buttons are now less susceptible to random bounces.
  •  Buttons can now be activated from the side in addition to the front.
  •  Bullets are faster and retain more speed upon bouncing, encouraging greater use of bounce mechanics.
  • Player is faster
  • All movements now utilise Time.deltatime for more consistently across various devices
  • Game Over Message Added

Art:

  •  All 20 levels have been redesigned
  • Altered shapes of 90% of levels
  • Added props and environment dressing for each level theme
  • New and different pathing across levels
  •  New themes (Office, Warehouse, and Secret Labs levels) have been added
  •  Some materials that appeared as unassigned have been updated.

Sound:

  • Added SFX for hitting a shield
  • Added SFX for hitting a decoy enemy
  • Sounds are more reliable in general
  • Footstep interval shortened

Miscellaneous:

  •  Gamepad support has been added. For all aspects of gameplay
  •  WASD controls are now supported for controlling the bullet.
  • NOTE: Even though Gamepad and WASD controls are supported , they are not as smooth as using the mouse currently. So it is recommended to still play with a mouse. Hoping to fix this with a quick update soon :)
  •  Social media links have been added to the main menu.
  •  Sound and control settings can be adjusted from the main menu or from the in-game pause menu.
  • Y rotations can be inverted for bullet control
  •  Instead of returning to the main menu, the in-game pause menu will now be available for use using the TAB key. 
  • All levels are now unlocked from the start, although it is recommended at least the first time of playing to start from 1 and continue to 20 numerically.
  • Game Profile Updated

and I suspect much more that I have forgotten to list!

Thank you for playing and checking out the new update, even though this is intended to be the final update to allow me to continue on other projects.
